Product Description

eXtreme Dog Fence cares about the safety of your pet, so we have manufactured a professional level Lightning Surge Protector unit that is in line with your electric pet fence. While eXtreme Dog Fence makes products with the best materials, there is no fool-proof way to protect against the forces of nature. In the unlikely chance that your land is hit by a lightning strike, you need to ensure that your pets fence is protected. This small investment is excellent insurance against ruining your electric fence.

Protect Your Home from Lightning Strikes

While a lightning strike is uncommon, it is entirely possible. And when your electric dog fence runs the perimeter of your property a lightning strike is likely to have a significant impact on your fence and on your home. With an eXtreme Dog Fence Surge Protector, you can ensure that any lightning strikes on your property will not affect the electrical work in your home. In the event of a catastrophic lightning surge, this unit will completely disconnect AC power to your home.

Do You Really Need a Surge Protector?

While a surge protector is something you may not think you need for your home, take this into consideration: our homes have a lot more electronics than ever before. Washers, dryers, and many other appliances now contain circuit boards that would become useless if a power surge hit your home. Even LED lighting now works through a circuit board. If you have gone through the trouble of changing out your incandescent or compact fluorescent bulbs and replaced them with LED lights, shouldn't you take the extra step and protect those investments?

How Does a Surge Protector Work?

This may seem counterintuitive but in case your surge protector is struck, we want it to break. What happens when your land or home is hit by lightning is a huge surge of power channels to your home. Like all electric fences, if your eXtreme Dog Fence is hit by lightning it can easily transmit too much energy into your home. Our lightning surge protector is built to destroy itself if your land is hit by lightning. The surge protector breaking is a much better alternative to destroying your home appliances.

Installation of Your eXtreme Dog Fence Lightning Surge Protector

Installation of your eXtreme Dog Fence Lightning Surge Protector couldn't be easier. You can install the unit in minutes. You simply plug your unit into a grounded 120-volt AC outlet within reach of where your transmitter is located. Cut your loop wires and strip back all four ends by one fourth of an inch. Then you simply plug your transmitter into the lightning surge protector and install all four wires into the connector tabs. The lightning surge protector comes with two outlets installed so you do not lose use of an outlet with its installation. When you've successfully installed your units, the power light shows you that protection is in place.

There is no simpler way to protect your dog fence and home from lightning strikes. While many other electric dog fence kits come with cheap thin wire, eXtreme Dog Fence's thick gauge wire ensures that even if your fence is struck by lightning, you will be able to use it for many years to come.
