Nature’s Variety Recall

As of July 24, 2005 the Nature’s Variety Brand has voluntarily recalled specific lots of its Instinct Raw Chicken Formula for Dogs as they were notified by the FDA that may be contaminated with Salmonella. In order to determine whether or not your dog food is being recalled, look at the “best by” date. This is located on the back of the package below the seal. Nature’s Variety® Dog Food Recall Expanded

Nature’s Variety® has expanded an earlier recall of the company’s Chicken Formula Raw Frozen Diets to include products with a “Best if Used By” date of 10/29/10 and 11/9/10. The original recall only affected those products with a best by date of 11/10/10. The affected products are being recalled due to contamination with Salmonella bacteria. The products affected by the expanded recall include Chicken Formula 0.75-lb Trial Sized Medallions UPC 769949601319, 3-lb Chicken Medallions UPC 769949601302, 6-lb Chicken Patties UPC 769949601203, and 2-lb Chicken Chubs UPC 769949601210. Nature’s Variety® announced a recall of its Chicken Formula Raw Frozen Diet product for dogs and cats on February 11, 2010. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a safety warning to consumers about the following Nature’s Variety® products: 3-lb Chicken Medallions UPC 769949601302 with a best by date of 11/10/10, 6-lb Chicken Patties UPC 769949601203 with a best by date of 11/10/10, and 2-lb Chicken Chubs UPC 769949601210 with a best by date of 11/10/10.
