My son ordered one of these and we would like to know how many collars can you use to connect to it.
Thank you very kindly for your question. You can add as many collars as you would like to the eXtreme Dog Fence® packages. Our underground dog fence will support an unlimited number of dogs. Please feel free to contact us with any other questions you may have.
If I need to unplug my transmitter does will it reset or will my settings/collars stay programmed?

The transmitter and collar will retain the settings you program, unless you keep your transmitter unplugged and remove the collar battery for an extended period of time. A few days will be no problem. However, after a month, you’ll likely have to reprogram your settings. If you need professional guidance to reprogram any settings, we are here 6 days per week and more than happy to assist our valued customers. Cheers.
Excellent customer service! Numerous phone calls were made to ask questions. All were returned within 10 minutes by a very friendly knowledgeable employee (Allison). Called back with a problem the following day (Johnny) patiently went through all the troubleshooting steps and said he would send out a new search protector. I asked if he could send out a new collar as well, as I had over tightened the contact and broke it off. Completely my fault! He agreed to include a new collar FREE of

Is the wire that goes between the controller and boundary wire shielded? In other words can the dogs cross it without it triggering their collar? I assume the controller doesn’t have to be mounted inline with the boundary wire and can be installed in the garage or house.

Although not every layout requires it, I am assuming that you are referencing ‘twisted wire’.
Twisted wire is not shielded. There is no need. The twists that are in that wire yield it as neutral. This means that the twisted wire will carry your radio signal from the transmitter out to your boundary wire, but will not trigger any warning beep or correction. Your dog can safely walk over this neutral line.
When doing a backyard and front yard containment area (both), and your home sits somewhere inside this area, twisted wire would be recommended for this solution. However, if you are doing backyard only or front yard only, you would likely not need to use twisted wire. It’s not needed in the 3 recommended wire layouts for this solution.

I purchased an extreme fencing 2nd generation from amazon.
I got the system up and running. Very pleased with your system. However, the collar light is flashing red which signifies a new battery. The battery is 3 weeks old. What do I have to do to save battery life? Do I need to turn off entire system when not in use? Will this save the battery? Please respond ASAP.

Hello Jeff, Thanks for reaching out to us. When you first get your fence, your dog is testing its limits, and you as the owner are also testing the functionality of the system. For this reason, you can expect the first battery to drain pretty quickly. Turning off the system will not save battery life. The battery is only activated when you or the dog approach the wire, and the collar beeps/corrects. After the initial battery change, you can expect each battery to last you 3-4 months. With that being said, we know it must feel frustrating to already have a dead battery. Please call us so that we can send you a replacement battery free of charge. Hope to hear from you soon.

This has been a great purchase. It takes some time and effort to install but it is worth it. Our dogs have done great staying within the boundaries and know exactly where they have to stay. Customer service (Savannah) has been awesome. They are so friendly and helpful. Could not be more happy with this system.

We have the Invisible Fence. We need to order batteries for the collar. I do I know if your batteries will work with the Invisible Fence collar?

We purchased an Extreme Dog Fence about 2 years ago. One of the best purchases we made! Unfortunately, when I was changing the batteries on one if the collars, I dropped the cap that covers the batteries. I have looked everywhere but I haven’t had any luck. I searched on the site here and on Amazon without success in getting another cap. I noticed there is a battery enclosure. Is Replacement battery for Invisible Fence® Brand Collars compatible with the Extreme Dog Fence?
