The Nestle Purina® Pet Care Company issued a recall on August 30, 2013, for 3.5-lb bags of its Purina® One Beyond® dog food. Possible Salmonella contamination led to the recall by the company.
This recall includes Purina® One Beyond® White Meat Chicken and Whole Barley Recipe Adult Dry Dog Food with a “best by” date of OCT 2014, a production code of 31071083, and a UPV code of 17800 12679.
The production code and “best by” date can be found on the bottom or back of the packaging.
Salmonella can cause a variety of symptoms within pets and humans, including nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and fever. Pets can also suffer from loss of appetite and lethargic behavior. Pet owners should seek medical help if they think they or their pets have been exposed to Salmonella.
