A medium to large-sized cat, the Persian has a well-balanced body and a pleasant expression on its face. It has a large, round head with short ears and a short tail. Its distinguishing characteristic is its short muzzle and sometimes flat face. They also have large, expressive eyes. There are more than 80 colors of Persians available today that include black, blue, cream and smoke. The Persian is also known for its long, silky, shimmering coat. Their long, thick coat needs to be groomed daily to keep it free of mats.
Personality
Persians are known for their serene, sweet-tempered nature. They love to lounge, but they also enjoy playtime. These cats are smart, but just not as inquisitive and active as some other breeds are. Devoted to their owners, they can be rather picky about who gets their love. They enjoy receiving affection and they love to be petted and made a fuss over. However, they won’t harass you for attention. Their long coat and docile temperaments make them solely indoor cats. They are not prone to high climbing or jumping.
