Nature’s Recipe® issued a recall of its Oven Baked Biscuits with Real Chicken product on October 13, 2012. The product was recalled due to potential contamination with the Salmonella bacteria.
The specific products include 19-oz resealable pouches of its Nature’s Recipe® Oven Baked Biscuits with Real Chicken with lot code 2199TP, UPC code 3052151549, and a “best by” date of 10/11/13; as well as products with lot code 2200TP, UPC code 3052151549, and “best by” date of 10/12/13.
The affected products were shipped to locations across the United States, mainly through retailers specializing in pet products.
Pets infected with Salmonella show symptoms such as lethargic behavior, loss of appetite, fever, and diarrhea. If pet owners think their pets have been infected, they should seek the advice of their veterinarian. Likewise, if pet owners think they have been infected with Salmonella themselves, either through contact with their pet or contaminated product, they should seek the help of a medical professional.
