On June 18, 2013, Natura® Pet Products recalled specific lots of its dry pet food. The reasoning behind the Fremont, Nebraska, company’s actions was due to the potential for contamination by the Salmonella bacteria.

The brands specific to the recall include Innova®, EVO®, California Natural®, Healthwise®, Karma®, and Mother Nature®. The affected products were sold in bags at veterinary clinics, pet specialty stores, and online in the United States and Canada.

Salmonella can cause lethargy, loss of appetite, fever, abdominal pain, and diarrhea in pets.
