Grill-Phoria, LLC announced the recall of its Big Bark All Natural Beef Jerky Treats for Dogs on January 20, 2015. The recall was issued when routine sampling by the Colorado Department of Agriculture turned up positive results for contamination by Salmonella bacteria within the product.

- An estimated 200 3.5-oz bags of Big Bark All Natural Beef Jerky Treats for Dogs made and sold between the dates of September 20, 2014, and January 2, 2015.

Salmonella can cause lethargy and loss of appetite in pets. Additionally, infected pets and humans can suffer from abdominal pains, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and fever. Pet owners should seek medical help if they think they or their pets have been exposed to Salmonella and exhibit any of the above symptoms. Even pets that show no signs of Salmonella contamination can still be carriers of the bacteria and should be checked if pet owners think they might have been exposed to the bacteria.
Consumers who bought the affected product should return it to their place of purchase for a full refund. They can also contact Grill-Phoria by phone at 1-970-663-4561 for more information about the recall.
