The following is a summary of all of the products affected by the Diamond® Pet Foods recall of 2012. The affected products were produced at the company’s Gaston, South Carolina, plant and included a variety of different pet food companies. The reason for the recall was due to possible Salmonella contamination.

The following brands and products are a part of the recall:

  • Diamond® Pet Foods Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover’s Soul™, Country Value®, Diamond®, Diamond Naturals®, Premium Edge®, Professional®, 4Health™, and Taste of the Wild®, all with the number “2” or “3” in the ninth position, an “X” in the 10th or 11th position in the production code, and “best by” dates of 12/9/12 through 4/7/13.
  • Apex™ Pet Foods 40- and 20-lb bags of Chicken and Rice Dog food, production code ACD0101B32, with a “best by” date of 24-Jan-2013.
  • Canidae® Platinum®, All Life Stages, Lamb Meal & Rice, and Chicken Meal & Rice Dry Dog Foods, with “3” in the ninth position and an “X” in the 10th or 11th position in the production code, and the “best by” dates of 12/9/12 through 1/31/13.
  • Kirkland Signature™ Super Premium Adult Dog Lamb, Rice & Vegetable; Adult Dog Chicken, Rice & Vegetable; Mature Dog Chicken, Rice & Egg; Maintenance Cat Chicken & Rice; and Healthy Weight Cat formulas; as well as Kirkland Signature™ Nature’s Domain™ Salmon Meal & Sweet Potato Formula for Dogs and Super Premium Healthy Weight Dog Formulated with Chicken & Vegetables. All have a “best by” dates of 12/9/12 through 1/31/13
  • Natural Balance® 5-lb bags of Sweet Potato & Venison Dog food, Lot NBH1202 with a “best by” date of 12/12/12 through 12/13/12 and lot NBH0103 with a “best by” date of 3/12/13; 15-lb bags of Sweet Potato & Venison Dog, lot NBH0101 with a “best by” date of 3/5/13 through 3/6/13, lot NBH1202 with a “bets by” date of 12/12/12 through 12/13/12, and lot NBH1203 with a best by date of 12/13/12 through 12/14/12; and 28-lb bags of Sweet Potato & Venison Dog, lot NBH0101 with a “best by” date of 3/5/13 through 3/6/13, lot NBH0102 with a “best by” date of 3/7/13 though 3/8/13, lot NBH0103 with a “best by” date of 3/12/13, lot NBH1202 with a best by date of 12/12/12 through 12/13/12, and lot NBH1203 with a “best by” date of 12/13/12 through 12/14/12.
