Breeder’s Choice® Pet Food, which operates out of Irwindale, California, issued a recall for one batch of its Active Care® Biscuits-Healthy Dog Treats. The recall was issued after the presence of mold was detected in the product.

The batch affected was 24-oz sizes of Breeder’s Choice® Active Care® Healthy joint Treats with a product code of BCP-080. The affected product also has a UPC code 0130104895 and a “best by” date of 19-Dec-2013.

The mold developed when the product in question was exposed to excess moisture. The company has since fixed the problem causing this issue. Symptoms associated with consumption of mold include loose stool and other gastrointestinal issues.
