Bravo® LLC issued a recall on May 31, 2011, of its Bravo® Pig Ears Dog Chews shipped between 1/1/11 and 2/28/11 to retailers on both the East and West Coast.
The recall was issued due to possible Salmonella contamination and includes Bravo!® 50-count bulk Oven Roasted Pig Ear products with a product code of 75121 and lot number of 120610. The recall was initiated after a routine sampling by the Washington State Department of Agriculture detected the bacteria in the finished product.
Pet owners who think they or their animals have been exposed to the Salmonella bacteria should contact a health professional for more guidance. Signs of Salmonella infection include abdominal pain, diarrhea, and fever. Pets can also exhibit loss of appetite and lethargic behavior.
If consumers purchased the affected product,
