Barkworthies® recalled select lots of the company’s Barkworthies® Chicken Vittles dog chews on December 24, 2014. The reason behind the recall was cited as possible contamination by Salmonella bacteria.
Distributed across the United States starting on May 6, 2014, the specific product includes:
- 16-oz pouches of Barkworthies® Chicken Vittles with lot code 1254T1, UPC 816807011510, and a “best by” date of May 2016.
Issued after routine tests of the product by the Colorado Department of Agriculture came back positive for Salmonella contamination, the recall affected no additional Barkworthies® products.
