On April 1, 2013, BARF World®, Inc. issued a recall for three of its frozen dog food products. The products were recalled after a positive test of a non-food item at the plant where the products were manufactured produced positive results for Salmonella.

In the interest of its customers, BARF World® decided to recall all pet food products produced in the facility on that day.

Recalled products include three BARF World® products:

  • BARF® Lamb Patties with a “best by” date of 07/27/13
  • BARF® Combo Patties with a “best by” date of 07/27/13
  • Bulk BARF® Combo Patties with a “best by” date of 07/27/13.

The white “best by” sticker can be found on the front above the product label.

Salmonella can cause many different symptoms in pets, including loss of appetite and lethargy, diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and fever. Humans can also become infected with Salmonella and show similar symptoms. If a pet or human is thought to have been exposed to the bacteria, immediate medical help should be sought.
