Carnivore Meat Company, LLC issued a recall of two lost of its Vital Essentials® raw frozen dog food products on July 7, 2015. The reason given for the recall was for possible contamination by Listeria monocytogenes. The specific products that were a part of the recall include: Vital Essentials® Frozen Beef Tripe Patties with UPC 33211 00809, lot number 10930, and a “best by” date of 20160210. Vital Essentials® Frozen Beef Tripe Nibblets with UPC 33211 00904, lot number 10719, and a “best by” date of 1202205. Stella & Chewy’s Recall

As of July 2, 2015, Stella and Chewy’s was ordered by the Maryland Department of Agriculture to issue a recall for Chewy’s Chicken Freeze-Dried Dinner Patties for Dogs in 15 oz. bags. This recall was issued because they detected Listeria monocytogenes in this product. The dog food in question came from Lot # 111-15. So far, no one has reported any illness by a dog or human as a result of this contamination.
