O’Neal’s Feeder Supply has issued a recall for its Arrow Brand Dog Food. Manufactured at its plant in DeRidder, Louisiana, the affected product was manufactured between 12/1/10 and 12/1/11 and shipped to locations in Texas and Louisiana. The product is being recalled due to higher-than-acceptable levels of aflotoxin.
The specific recalled products include 40-lb bags of Arrowbrand 21% Dog Chunks, SKU #807, and Super Proeaux Dog Food, SKU #812. Also included in the recall are 50-lb bags of Arrowbrand Professional Formula Dog Food, SKU #814. The packaging date codes/lot numbers for the recalled products only include 4K0341 through 4K0365 and 04K1001 through 4K1325.
While a naturally occurring by-product of mold, high levels of aflotoxin can cause problems in pets. Symptoms to look out for include loss of appetite, vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, and a yellow tint to the eyes or gums. If your pet shows any of these symptoms, make sure take them to your veterinarian for treatment immediately.
Consumers can return any of the above recalled products to
the retailer they purchased it from for a full refund.
