Advanced Animal Nutrition, located in Thayer, Missouri, issued a recall of three of its Dog Power Dog Food products. The recall was issued due to higher-than-acceptable traces of aflotoxin, a natural by-product of mold in dog food.

The affected Advanced Animal Nutrition products include 50-lb bags of Dog Power Adult Maintenance Formula 21-12, Hunters Formula 27-14, and Hi-Pro Performance Formula 26-18 Dog Food. The recall includes any of the above products with lot numbers 4K1004 through 4K1322. The affected products were shipped to retailers in the states of Arkansas, Louisiana, and Missouri.

Pets that consume more than safe levels of aflotoxin exhibit symptoms such as diarrhea, a reluctance to eat, vomiting, lethargy, and a yellowish tint to the gums or eyes. If your pet shows any of these symptoms after consuming the product, take them to your veterinarian for treatment as soon as possible.

You can return any unused portions to your place of purchase for a full refund.
